How do I save something?

In any app, tap Share and choose Kept. Works with links, text, photos and videos.

If Kept is not in the share sheet, scroll the row of apps to the end, tap More, and switch Kept on. You can drag it up the list from there.

Why did some items not get a picture or the full text?

This is expected, not a fault. Some pages need a login before they show anything — Instagram and Facebook often do. When Kept cannot reach the original, it keeps the link and the text you shared, marks the item, and you can tap Refresh on it later to try again.

Nothing is ever dropped because a fetch failed.

Why can't I save the video from YouTube or TikTok?

Their terms do not allow offline copies, so Kept does not make one. For those platforms Kept keeps the title, the thumbnail and the link.

Videos you share directly into Kept — from your camera roll, or forwarded in a messaging app — are stored whole on your phone. So are videos from ordinary web pages and public Telegram channels, where the terms allow it.

Something is filed under the wrong topic

Open the item and tap the topic you want under Topics. Your choice sticks, and Kept stops guessing for that item. Deselect everything to hand it back to automatic filing.

Can I change the language?

Kept follows your phone. To override it, open Settings in Kept and pick from the Language list. Twelve languages are available.

Where is my data? Can I get it out?

Everything is on your phone and nowhere else. Settings has Export everything, which produces a zip: your items, notes, tags and collections, plus every picture and video you have saved. Put it wherever you keep your own backups.

Import a backup in Settings reads that zip back. It only adds what is missing — anything already on the phone is left exactly as it is, so importing an old backup will not undo today's notes.

There is still no cloud copy and no sync, so deleting the app deletes whatever you have not exported.

Does Kept sync between my devices?

Not yet. Everything stays on the device you saved it on.

Do you see what I save?

No. There is no account and no server. See the privacy page for the detail.

How do I remove the sample content?

Settings, then Remove sample content. Only the sample items go; anything you saved yourself is untouched.
